SIGHTINGS YEAR-ROUND

High success rate

At O’Side Whales, we go out year-round, adapting to weather conditions. Each season is unique, offering the opportunity to spot different marine species depending on the time of year.

WINTER SEASON:

Winter brings unique whale sightings including gray whales, humpback whales, fin whales and various dolphin species. You may even see more rare visitors such as Cuvier’s beaked whales, false killer whales, and even orcas!

SUMMER & FALL SEASON:

Starting in May and throughout the summer, we regularly see common and bottlenose dolphins, blue whales, humpback whales, fin whales, Bryde’s whales and Minke whales. Humpback sightings peak from October to December, with the possibility of encountering exotic species like orcas, sperm whales, and large white sharks.

experiences, providing more time to interact and enjoy the animals.

    OUR BOAT:

Papaya is 28 foot Zodiac that can accommodate up to six passengers. Cruising speed is 25mphnso we can reach deeper waters quickly and maximize our viewing opportunities. The boat’s design is one of the safest around and the low profile of our inflatable sides makes for the closest encounters possible.

Even with the gentle handling of the boat and several seating options onboard our trips are not for everyone…people with neck, back or balance issues, and pregnant people are asked to book with caution, appreciate the unpredictable nature of ocean conditions and seek the advice of their medical professionals before boarding. Passengers must be 5yo or older to board, and life jackets are required for children under 13yo.
